Automated Cattle Spray System

Walk-through spray automation for Australian cattle properties

Outback Cattle Co is developing an automated walk-through cattle spray system for use in cattle yards, laneways, races, and remote property environments.

The system is being designed to allow cattle to move naturally through a controlled spray area while cameras or sensors detect cattle position and activate a timed spray sequence.

What the system does

The Outback Cattle Co cattle spray system is being developed to apply cattle coat oils and similar approved livestock spray products in a more controlled and consistent way.

As cattle pass through the spray area, the system can trigger spray nozzles for a set period of time. This allows the selected oil or spray product to be applied without relying solely on manual operation.

The system is intended to suit normal yard operations, where cattle are already moving through a race, laneway, or controlled entry point.

How it works

The system may use a combination of cameras, sensors, control equipment, relays, pumps, valves, and spray nozzles.

A typical setup may work like this:

  • Cattle enter the spray area
Cameras or sensors detect cattle position through the walk-through, race or laneway.
  • The system activates automatically
The control equipment triggers a timed spray sequence.
  • Spray is applied through positioned nozzles
Cattle coat oils or similar approved spray products are applied as cattle move through the system.

Manual control may also be included where required.

Currently under development

The system is currently being developed, tested, and refined before wider release.

Outback Cattle Co is interested in speaking with cattle producers, station owners, feedlots, and rural property operators who may have a suitable application or would like to register interest.

Every property is different, so the final system would be planned around the yard layout, cattle flow, available power, and site conditions.

Important note

Any oil, coat product, or livestock spray product used with the system must be suitable for the intended purpose and used according to the product label, supplier recommendations, veterinary advice, and applicable regulations.

Outback Cattle Co does not claim that the system cures, prevents, treats, or guarantees livestock health outcomes.
